대략 그런 것

something along those lines는 '~와 비슷한'이라는 뜻으로, 상대방에게 무언가를 이해시키려 할 때 주로 쓰인다.

정확하게 콕 집어 말하기 어려울 때, 예시와 대략적인 설명을 곁들어서

'이런 비슷한 느낌이야'라고 말하는 것이다.

그대로 풀이하면 '그 선을 따른 무언가', '그 선상 위의 무언가'라는 뜻이다.
