The Sheep and the Pig
돼지와 양

One day, a shepherd a fat pig in the meadow.
He quickly captured the pig,
which squealed at the top of its lungs the moment the shepherd laid his hands on it.
The sheep in the meadow were very surprised and amused at the pig's behavior.
"What makes you squeal like that?" asked one of the sheep.
"The shepherd catches and carries one of us off very often,
but we'd feel very ashamed making such a terrible fuss about it like you did."
"That's fine, " replied the pig.
"When he catches you, he is only after your wool, but he wants my bacon!"
It is easy to be brave when there is no danger.
어느 날, 한 양치기가 초원에서 뚱뚱한 돼지를 발견했습니다.
양치기는 빠르게 돼지를 잡았고,
양치기의 손이 닿자마자 돼지는 목청껏 소리를 냈습니다.
초원의 양들은 돼지의 행동에 매우 놀라며 흥미로웠했습니다.
"왜 그렇게 꽥꽥거리니?" 양 한 마리가 물었습니다.
"우리도 양치기가 항상 한 마리씩 잡아가지만 우리는 너처럼 부끄럽게 호들갑 떨지는 않아."
돼지가 대답했습니다. "그건 괜찮지!"
"양치기가 너희를 잡아가는 것은 양털을 위한 것이지만, 나를 잡아가는 것은 나를 잡아먹기 위한 거라고!"
위험에 처하지 않았을 때 용감하기는 쉽습니다.

1. The sheep in the meadow were very surprised and amused at the pig's behavior.
   초원의 양들은 돼지의 행동에 매우 놀라워하며 흥미로워했습니다.
   • amuse는 '즐겁게 하다', '즐거운 시간을 갖게 해 주다'라는 뜻이다.
     긍정적인 관심을 가지고 흥미로워하는 정도도 amuse라 할 수 있다. 
   • I'll have to find a way to amuse myself for a few hours while waiting for the plane.
     비행기를 기다리며 몇 시간 동안 즐겁게 시간을 보낼 방법을 찾아야 해요.
2. We'd feel very ashamed making such a terrible fuss about it like you did.
   우리는 너처럼 부끄럽게 호들갑 떨지는 않아.
   • We would feel very ashamed.라고 하면 '우리는 매우 부끄러울 것이다'라는 의미이며
     부끄러운 일을 하고도 당당한 사람을 볼 때 사용할 수 있다. 
   • I can't believe the teacher told me to come to school just because my son punched another kid.
     내 아들이 다른 애 때린 일로 선생님이 나보고 학교에 찾아오라고 한 게 믿기지 않네.
   • Well, I would feel very ashamed.
     글쎄, 내가 너라면 엄청 부끄러울 것 같은데.

• at the top of one's lungs : 목청껏, 목청이 터지도록 소리를 지르다, 악을 쓰다
