The Oxen and the Wheels
황소와 수레바퀴

A pair of oxen were pulling a heavy wagon along a muddy country road.
They had to use all their strength to pull the wagon, but they did not complain.
On the other hand, the wheels on the wagon creaked and groaned at every turn, and when pulling the wagon through the deep mud, the poor oxen heard the wheels' loud complaints again
"Be quiet!" the oxen yelled impatiently.
"What do you wheels have to complain about so loudly?
We are pulling all the weight, not you, and we aren't even compaining!"
They complain most who suffer least.
황소 한 쌍이 진흙투성이 시골길을 따라 무거운 수레를 끌고 있었습니다.
온 힘을 다해 수레를 끌어야 했지만, 불평은 없었습니다.
반면 수레바퀴는 매번 삐걱거리며 끙끙했습니다.
그러다 마차가 깊은 진흙길을 통과할 때, 가엾은 황소들은 바퀴들의 시끄러운 불평을 다시 들었습니다.
"조용히 하시오!" 황소는 참을 수 없어 소리쳤습니다.
"당신들이 불평할 게 뭐가 있소?
우리가 일을 다 하고 있는데, 정작 우리는 불평을 안 하고 있지 않소!"
가장 적게 고생하는 자가 가장 불평이 많습니다.

1. The wheels on the wagon creaked and groaned at every turn.
   수레바퀴들은 매번 삐걱거리고 끙끙댔습니다.
   • 일을 진행하는데 한 문제가 해결되면 또 다른 문제가 터지는 일이 반복될 때 at every turn이라는 표현을 사용해 보자.
   • At every turn, I only encountered more and more problems.
     매번, 더 많은 문제에만 부딪혔을 뿐이다.
2. They complain most who suffer least.
   가장 적게 고생하는 자가 가장 많이 불평합니다.
   • 이 문장은 격언이기 때문에 간결함을 최대한 살리고 있다.
     생략된 부분도 있고, 순서가 뒤바뀐 부분도 있는데 다음과 같이 온전한 문장으로 재구성할 수 있다.
   • Those who suffer least complain most.
   • Those who complain the most are the ones who suffer the least.

• creak : 삐걱거리는 소리, 삐걱거리다
• compalint : 불평, 항의, 고소
• impatiently : 성급하게, 조바심하며
• impatient : 빨리 ~하기를 바라는
• yell : 고함, 외침, 소리치다, 외치다
• groan : 신음, 끙하는 소리, 신음을 내다, 끙하는 소리를 내다
