"Why in the world do you walk sideways like that?" a mother crab asked her son.
"You should always walk straight forward."
"Show me how to walk, mother, " answered the little crab obediently, "I want to learn."
So, the old crab tried and tried to walk straight forward, but she could only wlak sideways, like her son.
And when she tried to turn her toes out, she tripped and fell on her nose.
Do not tell others how to act unless you can set a good example.
"도대체 왜 그렇게 옆으로 걷고 있니?" 어미 게가 아들에게 말했습니다.
"너는 항상 앞으로 걸어야 해."
"어머니, 걷는 법을 보여주세요. 배우고 싶어요." 아들 게가 공손히 말했습니다.
하지만 어미 게가 앞으로 걸어 보려고 노력하고 또 노력해 봤지만, 아들처럼 옆으로만 걸을 수 있었습니다.
오히려 발가락을 앞으로 돌려 보려하니 발을 헛디뎌 앞으로 고꾸라졌습니다.
모범을 보일 수 없다면 다른 사람에게 이래라저래라 하지 마세요.

   • 우리말로 감탄하거나 무언가 강조할 때 '세상에'라는 말을 쓴다.
     영어에서 이 말은 int the world인데 혼자 쓰이지 않고 who, what, how 등의 의문사와 함께 쓰인다.
   • Who in the world is that?
     도대체 저 사람은 누구니?
     When in the world will you stop?
     도대체 언제 멈출 거야?
     Where in the world were you?
     도대체 어디 있었어?
     What in the world is that?
     도대체 저게 뭐니?
     How in the world did you do that?
     도대체 어떻게 한 거야?
     Why in the owrld did you do that?
     도대체 왜 그 짓을 한 거야?
2. Do not tell others how to act unless you can set a good example.
   모범을 보일 수 없다면 다른 살마에게 이래라저래라 하지 마세요.
   • do not은 '~하지 마라' 라고하는 명령문이다.
     do not tell others how to act는 다른 사람에게 어떻게 행동해야 하는지 명령하지 말라는 말이다.
     한마디로, 이래라저래라 하지 말라는 것이다.
   • unless가 명령문 뒤에 나온다면 '~할 수 없다면 ~하지 말아라'라는 형식의 문장이 된다.
   • 우리말로 모법을 '보이다'라는 말을 영어로는 set an example 또는 set on example이라고 한다.
   • You can't go out to play unless you've finished your homework.
     Set an example for your siblings.
     숙제 끝내기 전까지는 나가서 놀 수 없어.
     동생들에게 모범을 보여야지.
