Early one morning, a hungry wolf was prowling around a cottage at the edge of a village
when he heard a child crying inside the house.
Then he heard the mother's voice say: "Be quiet, child! Stop your crying, or I will give you to the wolf!"
Surprised but delighted at the thought of such a delicious meal,
the wolf settled down under an open window, wating to have the child handed to him.
Although the child continued to cry, the wolf waited all day in vain.
Then, that evening, he heard the mother's voice again as she sat down near the window to sing and rock her baby to sleep.
"Don't worry, child! The wolf will not get you.
No, no! Daddy is watching, and he will kill the wolf if he comes near!"
just then, the father arrived home, and the wolf ran far away.

어느 이른 아침, 배고픈 늑대가 마을 끝에 있는 오두막집을 배회하고 있었습니다.
그때 집안에서 아이 우는 소리가 들려왔습니다.
"아이야, 조용히 하렴! 울음을 그치치 않으면 늑대에게 잡아먹으라고 줄 거란다"
아이의 어머니가 하는 말에 늑대는 놀랐지만 그토록 맛있는 식사를 할 것이라 생각하자 기뻤습니다.
그래서 열려 있는 창문 밑에서 자리를 잡고 엄마가 아이를 넘겨주기만을 기다렸습니다.
아이는 계속 울었지만 늑대는 하루 종일 기다릴 뿐이었습니다.
그리고 그날 저녁, 어머니는 창가에 앉아 아이를 재우며 노래를 불렀습니다.
"아이야 걱정하지 마렴! 늑대는 너를 잡아먹지 못할 거야.
아니, 늑대는 너를 먹지 못해! 아빠가 너를 지키고 있단다. 늑대가 가까이 오면 늑대를 죽일 거란다!"
바로 그때 아버지가 집으로 돌아왔습니다. 늑대는 멀리 도망갔습니다.

   • such는 많은 의미가 있다
     • '그러한'이라는 용도로 사용되어 앞에 나온 대상을 언급
     • 강조하는 말로 사용
       such a delicious meal은 '정말 맛있는 식사'라는 뜻으로 해석될 수 있다.
       예문에서의 such는 여기에 해당한다.
   • I did not know such things were possible!
     이런 일이 가능한 줄 몰랐네!
2. Daddy is watching.
   아빠가 너를 지키고 있단다.
   • watch는 '보다'라는 뜻이다.
     '망보다'라고 해석되면 '지키고 있다'라는 의미다
   • what over
     • 누군가를 watch over 한다고 하면 '~를 지키다', '~를 보살피다'라는 뜻이다.
   • The child has a lot of people watching over him and taking care of him.
     이 아이는 많은 사람들이 지켜주고 보살펴 줍니다.
