One day, a fox and a leopard were arguing about their good looks.
The leopard was very proud of his glossy, spotted coat and made rude comments about the fox.
The fox prided himself on his fine bushy tail, but he was wise enough to see that he could not compare his looks to the loepard.
Still, he was sarcastic and continued to argue just for fun and to show off his wit.
The leopard was about to lose his temper over it.
"You may have a very beautiful coat," the fox said,
"but you would be better off if you had more brains than beauty, like me."
A fine coat is not always an indication of an attractive mind.
어느 날, 여우와 표범이 서로의 외모를 가지고 다투고 있었습니다.
표범은 윤기가 흐르는 자신의 얼룩무늬를 자랑스러워하며 여우의 외모에 대해 무례한 말을 했습니다.
여우도 자신의 풍성한 꼬리에 자부심이 있었지만, 표범에게 비할 바가 못 된다는 것을 알만큼 영리했습니다.
그럼에도, 여우는 빈정대며 단지 재미로 계속 논쟁을 하며 자신의 재치를 뽐냈습니다.
여우의 빈정댐에 표범은 이성을 잃기 직전이었습니다.
여우가 말했습니다. "당신의 털은 아름답지만,
아름다운 것보다는 똑똑한 것이 더 나을 거예요. 저처럼 말이죠."
고운 외모가 매력적인 마음을 의미하지는 않습니다.

   The fox prided himself on his fine bushy tail.
   여우도 자신의 풍성한 꼬리에 자부심이 있었습니다.
   
   • proud와 pride는 의미는 같지만 사용법이 다르다
     proude는 '자랑스러운', '오만한', '거만한'으로 대상의 상태를 나타내는 형용사이다.
     그래서 very proud of 라고 하며 표범이 무엇에 대해 자랑스러워하는지 보여준다.
     pride는 '자랑스러움', '자부심', '긍지', '자존심'을 의미하는 명사로
     대부분 prided oneself on이라는 형태로 '~을 자랑하다', '~에 대해 자랑스럽게 여기다'라는 의미로 사용된다.
     
     • The mother was very proud of her daughter's success.
       어머니는 딸의 성공을 매우 자랑스러워했다.
2. A fine coat is not always an indication of an attractive mind.
   멋진 외모가 늘 멋진 정신을 의미하지는 않습니다.
   • coat가 '외투'를 의미하지만, 동물에 쓰이면 '가죽'이나 '털'을 의미한다.
     indication은 무언가를 '보여 주는 것', '암시하는 것'을 뜻한다.
     비슷한 단어로 '징수', '조짐', '기색'을 뜻하는 sign이 있다.
     • There was no indication of physical abuse.
       신체적 학대의 흔적이 없었다.

• BERLIN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Swiss drugs regulator Swissmedic said on Friday that an analysis of bubbles that formed in vials of BionTech-Pfizer's COVID-19 booster shot revealed no indication of risk.

• Swissmedic said the batch in question can still be used for vaccinations and there is no risk to anyone who may have already been vaccinated.
