진심으로

친구가 상처되는 말을 해서 친구와 싸운 후,

친구가 미안하다고 연락해 왔지만 받지 않았다.

며칠 후, 친구가 집 앞으로 찾아와 고개를 숙인 채 사과의 말을 건넨다.

진심으로 뉘우치고 사과랄 하는 모습에 사과를 받아주었다.

이때 친구의 행동처럼 진심으로 사과한 것처럼

마음속 깊은 곳에서 우러난 말 또는 행동을 일컬을 때

from the bottom of one's heart라는 표현을 쓸 수 있다.

말 그래도 '마음 밑바닥부터 나온'이라는 뜻이다.
